The brief usually arrives as one line: "We want the mountains, the sea and the wine. Three nights, fifty people." Georgia fits on a single map screen, so all three sound like one trip.
On the ground there is a mountain pass between them, three different season windows, and a full day of driving in one direction. That is why we start the conversation about location with three constraints rather than photographs: how long the road takes, what actually operates in that month, and how many people a venue holds without splitting the group. Below are the five regions we take corporate groups to most often after fifteen years here, and an honest list of what each one cannot do.
Three constraints that decide for you
The road. Georgia is compact, and that is misleading. Tbilisi to Gudauri is about 120 km and takes 2 to 2.5 hours (wander-lush.org, Wikipedia). Tbilisi airport sits roughly 17 km from the centre: 20 to 30 minutes in normal traffic, up to 45 at peak (CEPT delegate briefing, wander-lush.org). The second airport, Kutaisi, is often cheaper on tickets but adds 3.5 to 4 hours of road transfer to Tbilisi (directflights.com). Every inter-region move eats half a programme day, and you have already paid for that half day.
The season. Each region runs on its own window, and the windows do not line up. The Gudauri ski season runs roughly from late December to late April (skiresort.info); the 2025/26 season opened on 27 December with lifts running 10:00 to 17:00 (gudauri.info). Rtveli, the grape harvest in Kakheti, normally falls in the second half of September and runs into mid-October (georgia.to).
Capacity. We run groups from 20 to 1,200 people, and the breaking point is the building rather than the budget. The city and Kakheti absorb large groups; mountain hotels more often force a split across two buildings, and a split feels heavier in the mountains than in town, because nobody walks between blocks through snow after dinner.
Tbilisi: the default base
Almost every programme starts and ends here, and most of them stay here. The airport has direct service to 68 destinations flown by 52 airlines (directflights.com) and handled 4.75 million passengers in 2024 (Wikipedia). For a group assembling from several countries, that means one connection instead of two. Entry is straightforward for most delegations: citizens of 98 countries enter visa free for up to a year (Batumi Tourism), though the list is checked passport by passport, not "on average across the group".

The one limitation is seasonal: July and August are hot in the city by day, so outdoor activities move to the morning and the working sessions to the first half of the day.
Kakheti: a shared table two hours from the capital
Kakheti is the only wine region in our practice a group can reach and return from in a day without the trip feeling like a race: two hours each way. The format works for a reason that has little to do with wine. People seat themselves differently at a long table than in a meeting room, and the conversations end up running between departments rather than inside them.
What it suits: award dinners, integrating teams after a merger, and programmes for groups mixed in age and fitness. During rtveli it is not a tasting but work: the group cuts bunches and carries crates, then sits down in the evening with the same people. The limitation: September and the first half of October are the tightest window of the year. For a group of 40 or more in September we lock venues 3 to 4 months out; later than that the choice narrows to two or three addresses.
Kazbegi: summer mountains and honest road arithmetic
Stepantsminda and the gorges around it are what half our clients picture when they first look at Georgia: the Gergeti church above the village, Juta, Truso. In summer it is the best base in the country for a three-day format with evening sessions back at the hotel.
The recurring question is whether to go for the day or stay the night. Even independent travellers answer it the same way in this r/Sakartvelo thread: as a day trip it is six hours of driving for two hours on site. We offer the day version to corporate groups only when the entire point is to change the scenery for one day.
The limitations are weather and the winter pass. Juta and Truso can close for a day in summer after rain, depending on the state of the dirt road. The Gudauri–Kobi section of the Georgian Military Road is closed during heavy snow and avalanche risk (example), with status published by the Roads Department. So in winter we never build Kazbegi into a programme that requires returning the same day. Active formats sit under adventure programmes, from 160 dollars per person per day.
Gudauri: a winter format that needs a second track
In winter Gudauri is the obvious answer, and it rests on one assumption: the team goes up and stays up. Sleeping in Tbilisi and skiing above turns the programme into four hours of coach every day.
Two limitations worth knowing before the brief. First, the resort sits above 2,000 metres, and part of any group feels the altitude on the first night — headaches, poor sleep. We do not schedule heavy working sessions for the first evening, and we say so in the invitation rather than on arrival. Second, a ski offsite splits the team into those who ski and everyone else, so we always run a second track — snowshoes, tubing, a food block — and bring everyone back together after lunch. Batumi: a seasonal location, with a caveat
Batumi is the Black Sea coast, and its window matches summer: late June to August, when Tbilisi is hot by day and evening formats work better by the sea. It is the only one of the five where we advise counting the transfer as a programme day rather than a transfer: the coast lies at the opposite end of the country from the capital, and the drive takes a day. Kutaisi airport is closer to it than Tbilisi is, which is worth checking before international tickets are bought.
We do not publish capacity figures for specific Batumi venues here: catalogue numbers contradict each other, and they get verified with a tape measure on the walkthrough anyway. For a multi-region corporate tour Batumi usually does not fit — it is either the base for the whole trip or it is out. Those formats sit under corporate tours, from 240 dollars per person per day.

What usually breaks a programme is not the choice of location but the number of them. Tbilisi, the mountains and Kakheti in three nights only work on paper; our working minimum is three nights in one region plus day trips. Frequently asked questions
Which location in Georgia is best for a corporate event? There is no single answer. Tbilisi for the business half and arrivals, Kakheti for the evening and the shared table, Kazbegi for summer mountains, Gudauri for winter, Batumi for summer by the sea. The choice follows the date and the purpose of the trip, not the other way round.
How many locations fit into a three-day trip? One base plus one day trip. Tbilisi and Kakheti fit that pattern comfortably; Tbilisi and Gudauri fit with a caveat about the pass. Three regions in three nights is a programme about a coach.
Can we combine the mountains and the sea in one trip? Technically yes, but the move between them takes a full day and has to be budgeted as a programme day, not a transfer. For a group flying in from far away that usually means a fifth or sixth night.
How far ahead should venues be booked? In our practice September and December book out 3 to 4 months ahead for mountain and Kakheti venues; other months take 6 to 8 weeks. A group of 100+ in high season without an early hold almost always ends up moving its dates.
How likely is it that a mountain road closes? In winter the risk is always there: the Gudauri–Kobi section closes during snowfall and avalanche risk, with status published by the Roads Department of Georgia. We plan winter programmes so the group can spend the day where it is, without a mandatory drive over the pass.
Which month is the most versatile? May, June, September and the first half of October: the city, Kakheti and the mountains all work in those windows. September and October are also the busiest, so competition for venues is higher than in May.
What does a programme in these locations cost?
